What is the structure of the payment plan?
There are two key options for paying for the retreat: full payment upfront or a payment plan as outlined below. If you opt for the payment plan, Combat Collective typically breaks it down into three payments.
-1st Payment: On the day of your enrollment, 20% of the retreat price will be taken as the first deposit payment. After your first payment, you will have reserved a spot in our upcoming retreat; however, this does not guarantee full confirmation of your spot.
- 2nd Payment: 30 days later, 26.67% of the retreat price will be taken.
- 3rd Payment: 30 days later, another 26.67% of the retreat price will be taken.
- 4th Payment: Another 30 days later, the remaining balance of the retreat price will be taken as your final payment for completion.

What experiences do I need to join this retreat?
We accept and welcome all levels of fitness or Muay Thai experiences. BangTao provides a world-class customer experience, unintimidating and friendly training environment for every level, from absolute beginners to advanced.
For MMA retreat we have a separate application process and some experience in combat sport is needed.
What’s included and what’s not?
The details of all training and activities, accommodation, meals, certain transfers included in our retreat are on the retreat schedule. What is not included is round trip flights, airport transfer and meals on certain evenings. The expenses to be spent at Yona Beach Club will be excluded.
Do we need to bring hand wraps and gloves?
You will need to bring your own hand wraps (extra pairs given daily training), boxing gloves and shin guards. The BangTao gym does have a store that sells all of these with an exclusive discount for you if you do not wish to pack these in your luggage. For gloves we recommend 10-12oz, 12-14oz is best for sparring (if you intend to spar).
For MMA retreat you will also need MMA Sparring gloves.
What clothing would you recommend us to bring?
Temperatures are warm at 25⁰C-32⁰C with 8 hours of sunshine a day. We recommend you to bring cotton t-shirts, summer dresses, shorts, linen shirts, lightweight clothes and easy-to-dry clothing.
Apart from training, are there any other activities?
Our featured activities of the Muay Thai retreat are Yona Beach Club, Fight Night, Buddha Run and other training such as HIIT, self defense, Yoga,meditation and sound bath sessions.
For the MMA retreat: Orphanage visit, Elephant Sanctuary visit. Beach games, and other training such as mobility session, strength and conditioning , Yoga, meditation and womens empowerment workshop and a spa day.
Can I stay behind in Thailand after the retreat?
Yes of course! Phuket is an amazing place to travel and sightsee, with loads of delicious food and culture. We are expecting you on April 28th and the retreat ends on May 6th but you are welcome to stay as long as your visa allows in Thailand. You can also arrive earlier and explore Thailand before the retreat. Our retreats are an excellent addition to your Thailand trip!
What are the entry requirements for travellers to Thailand?
Travelers do not have to present proof of COVID-19 testing during their arrival or departure from Thailand. For other visa and entry requirements, please kindly check with your local authorities.
When is check in and check out
The check in at Arinara resort 2:00pm in the afternoon. However, to accommodate any early arrivals - the reception should be able to store your luggage whilst you chill around the pool/ area until your room is ready. The check out on 12:00pm at noon. Again, the reception can store your luggage if you have a late flight.
Do the meals in the retreat package include vegan/ vegetarian or halal options?
At Arinara resort, there are vegan or vegetarian options and also salad and noodle stations. Their ingredients of chicken and beef is halal certified. At Bangtao Ringside cafe for lunches, there are options you can customise to meet your dietary needs. (e.g. Salad station with selection of vegetables and proteins) For the seafood/ seaside restaurant, we will communicate with the chef to provide alternative dishes for you if you inform us before the retreat date.
Is there somewhere I can do laundry?
Yes! There are several options for laundry, we do get pretty sweaty training in the heat so to save you packing so much you can do laundry.
Do I need to bring local currency? row
It's a good idea to have local currency as likely you’ll want to add some extras like massages etc to your trip, also to note some dinners aren't included.
Do I have to attend every session?
You can attend as many or as little sessions as you like, you are not obligated but we do encourage you to try joining as many as you can.
Do I need travel insurance?
Travel insurance is not required but it is highly recommended, it's also a good idea to make sure your insurance specifically covers martial arts.
Is there wifi/cell service?
Both the hotel and the gym have free wifi, if you wish to have cell service everywhere you can buy a plan from your home country, an e-sim or buy a Thai SIM card at the airport or phone shop.
Where do I fly into?
The closest airport to the retreat is Phuket international airport, from some countries you can fly directly to Phuket, for others you may need to transit through Bangkok.
If I have bought the shared package when will I know who I am sharing with?
We will set up a group chat where we introduce ourselves and get to know each other a little bit pre retreat. Sharing partners are allocated randomly and on the day of arrival unless requested otherwise.
